Can I take Darvocet and Codeine together, and yes, they are prescribed to me.?
I have the darvocet for my psoriatic arthritis and the codeine for kidney stones. I forgot tot mention to my kidney doc about the darvocet. Is it safe to take both, because I’m in a lot of pain.

I would not combine them because they have the same affect which can increase the risk of CNS and respiratory depression. I would just take the stronger of the two and talk to your physician tomorrow about combining them.
I wouldn’t take them together. They both have opiates and you do not want to risk an overdose.
If I were you, I’d take Darvocet, as it has acetaminophen so it reduces pain in 2 different ways. Shouldn’t you also be taking immunosuppressive drugs for your arthritis?
Anyway, there isn’t any advantage in taking codeine AND Darvocet – they act the same way so you won’t really have a benefit (and codeine is less potent, as it needs to be transformed in the liver to its active form).
Hope I could help.
